▶ Stream the AlbumGreg Haptor is an independent songwriter and producer based in Los Angeles. Self-taught, self-recorded, and largely self-released — the project has crossed 350,000 streams across the catalog without a label, manager, or paid press cycle.
He writes the songs and lyrics, plays guitar and piano on every track, and covers many of the other instruments himself — bass, harmonica, strings, percussion. The rest is played by top session musicians whose credits include some of the biggest names in modern music. The melodies are catchy enough to hum on first listen, but the lyrics underneath them tend to be heavier. Love, loss, daily life, the social moment. The spoonful-of-sugar trick, on purpose.
The influences run wide and unhidden — The Beatles, Paul Weller, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Nick Drake, Randy Newman, Gershwin, Bacharach. The songs across the catalog don't sound like each other, but they all sound like the same person. Same fingerprint, different rooms.
New singles roll out through 2026, with a longer project on the way. The same instinct for getting to the essence of a song — and the specific style each song wants — carries over to the work he does producing and co-writing for other artists out of the studio.
